Beeji Banter 2: Peigi Mackillop Lessons During Pregnancy

Between her day job as art and marketing manager for Phillips Auction house in London, we asked expectant mum @peigicatriona about some key things she’s learning about motherhood in her preparations for the arrival of her little girl.

Today, at 24 weeks and 5 days pregnant with my first child—a baby girl—I find myself reflecting on the journey into motherhood. Here are five lessons I’ve learnt so far as I embark on this transformative chapter of my life:
  1. Patience: Pregnancy has taught me the art of waiting and preparing for the unpredictable.
  2. Self-care: I’ve learnt to prioritise my physical and mental well-being, knowing that nurturing myself is essential for nurturing my baby.
  3. Gratitude: I appreciate the miracle of life growing within me and cherish the bond I already feel with my daughter.
  4. Joy: Amidst the challenges, pregnancy also brings moments of pure joy.
  5. Community: Building a support network of fellow mums, friends, and family has provided me with invaluable guidance and reassurance.
